Visit Lumbini Tourism Place 2012 Nepal

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Thursday formally announced the Lumbini Visit Year 2012. Speaking at a programme on the occasion in Lumbini today, the prime minister said the whole world is in need of Lord Buddha’s peace principles. The prime minister said that he was striving to establish lasting peace in the nation. PM Bhattarai also said that the broader Lumbini development project would be beneficiary to the surrounding areas as well.
Lumbini is the fourth largest tourist destination in Nepal. Nearly 20,000
tourists visit the area every year (Source: Nepal Tourism Board). Recently,
UNESCO has declared it a World Heritage Site. It has great potential to grow as
the major tourist destination in years to come.
